Technology & Patient Comfort
With the latest advances, dental treatment has never been more comfortable, but we believe that quality care entails more than just fancy gadgets and spa-like perks. Dr. Romesh and Dr. Shanaka combine amenities like aromatherapy, noise canceling headphones, and televisions in each treatment area with meticulous, compassionate therapy so that patients receive comprehensive dental care. For patients who suffer from dental phobia, we may suggest oral sedation, which involves one dose of anti-anxiety medication before treatment to create a deeper state of relaxation. We want our patients to feel peaceful and confident as we restore the health and beauty of their smiles. The technology we utilize includes:
- Intraoral Camera -
Many patients, especially younger patients, are familiar with the latest technology and are more comfortable with a high-tech practice. Computers and TV monitors are their primary method for processing information. Dr. Mesh and Dr. Shanaka use an intraoral camera to enhance your understanding of their diagnosis.
With our small, intraoral camera – just a few millimeters long – we can take accurate, clear images of the inside of your mouth, including teeth and gums. This helps us make an accurate diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair time for you. We can save the images with your permanent record for future reference. They can be printed or emailed for you, other specialists, a lab, or your insurance provider, as well. - Digital X-Rays -
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Our office uses digital imaging. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 70 to 90-percent less than with traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. The advantages of digital imaging enable us to not only store patient images, but also to quickly transfer them to appropriate specialists or insurance companies
Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our naked eyes. We can see cavities between teeth, determine bone level and health, and examine teeth roots and nerves. Digital radiographs allow us to diagnose lesions, such as cysts, tumors, or abscesses, and we can also assess damage from trauma. - Digital Photography - One of the key elements in creating the most aesthetic and functional indirect restorations is providing the laboratory with digital imagery of surrounding teeth, opposing dentition, gums, and facial features. By capturing these features, our lab technician can identify specific characteristics and nuances needed to develop the most aesthetic and functional restorations.
- Onsite Dental Lab - Our office provides precise, highly aesthetic crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays. By utilizing materials and technologies proven over decades by dentists around the globe, as well as advanced, newer technologies, our onsite laboratory can produce beautiful restorations specific to each application. Especially when custom shade matching new restorations to existing natural teeth or to previously placed restorations, it is critical to have the patient involved in shape/contour design, as well as color and translucency. The simple fact of being able to custom design restorations in the office, in addition to making modifications when placing the restorations, is the key to creating ideal results for function and aesthetics.
- XCPT Treatment Planning Program - The XCPT program lets us take a full panorex of your mouth, and then build a treatment plan on the digital X-ray so that you can see an accurate digital representation of proposed treatment. This revolutionary system fosters easier and more effective communication between the doctors and our patients.
